Chocolate salame

Ingredients:  F  W  V  Ef

(serves 6-8 people)

  • 1 cup of crushed amaretto cookies
  • 1 cup of crushed dry biscuits (like Marie or Petit Buerre)
  • 6 Tbsp. of sugar
  • 3 oz. unsalted butter
  • 3 oz. dark chocolate
  • 1 tbsp. dark cocoa
  • 1/4 cup Marsala sweet wine
  • powdered sugar

Cut the butter into small pieces and leave it at room temperature until soft. Cut the chocolate into small pieces and melt it in a double boiler. Put the amaretto cookies and the biscuits in a plastic bag and crush them into crumbs (do not pulverize them).
With an electric beater, beat together the butter and sugar, until smooth and creamy, add the Marsala wine a little at a time, then add the melted chocolate and the cocoa powder. When all these ingredients are well mixed, add the cookies and biscuits. Stir with a spatula until well blended together.
Transfer this mixture onto wax paper or plastic, give it the shape of a salame, and wrap it tightly by twisting the ends of the paper or plastic.
Refrigerate for 4-5 hours,  remove from wrapping and dust it with the powdered sugar. Cut it into 1/2 inch slices before serving.
